President's Message

Dear Colleagues, 
 
I am pleased to invite you to the annual CSAC 2024 Legislative Conference in Sacramento April 17-19, 2024. We have expanded the conference to three days and packed them full of exciting speakers and educational updates as well as opportunities to engage and connect with legislators, state leaders, and of course, your county peers. 

This year’s Legislative Conference comes on the heels of the critical March Primary Election, where Californians’ decisions at the ballot box will have a profound impact on counties. The Legislature will also be in full swing, reviewing and passing hundreds of pieces of legislation while also finalizing their budget package. There is no better time to travel to the Capitol to learn, advocate, and participate directly in the decision-making processes that affect our counties and communities. 

The debates that await us are complex, but counties have demonstrated time and again that we will meet the challenges thrown at us with tenacity and resilience. I am profoundly honored to serve as CSAC’s President during this time of change and proud of our tireless work on behalf of our communities. I am also invigorated by the determination of CSAC staff as they've developed this conference and continue their outstanding work on behalf of all of us. I hope you will join us at the 2024 Legislative Conference to ensure the county voice is heard loud and clear in Sacramento – and beyond.
