President's Message

Dear County Colleagues,

Together, we have developed shared priorities to help us advance change for counties and the constituencies we represent. And I, for one, am honored to work alongside my fellow supervisors and our county staff on this important journey.

The road to success is always under construction, but by working together – 58 counties strong – we have made enormous progress this year. One example is our collective push for CSAC’s AT HOME Plan. There weren’t any directions for how to address homelessness – so we drew the map together. We then reached out to our communities and elected colleagues and made our case for increased collaboration and clarity. Our hard work at the local level paid off, as language to increase local collaboration and encourage clear roles and responsibilities was ultimately included in the State’s budget legislation passed in June.

There’s still work to be done – it’s never-ending with complex challenges such as homelessness – but together we are unstoppable. That’s why I am personally inviting each of you to come together in Alameda County for the CSAC 129th Annual Meeting in November.

We have a substantial lineup of events to educate and entertain this year, and your participation in the policy committee meetings, caucuses, and workshops is crucial to building thriving communities

Please join me and your colleagues as we build the roadmap for the year ahead at the 129th CSAC Annual Meeting. It’s my privilege to serve you, and I want to thank you for all that you do on behalf of your communities and the county family.

Sincerely,

CSAC President Chuck Washington
Riverside County Supervisor
